Introduction - For the vacancies of Assistant Section Officers (ASO) and Section Officers (SO), the Central Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has announced 444 vacancies in the Combined Administrative Service Exam (CASE). Starting on December 8, 2023, applications will be accepted. Until January 12, 2024, eligible candidates may apply for this position. CSIR SO / ASO Vacancy
A total of 444 vacancies are available, 19 of which are designated for candidates with disabilities, per the CSIR Recruitment 2023 notification. 368 positions for Assistant Section Officers (ASOs) and 76 positions for Section Officers (SOs) are up for allocation. The ASO post's vacancy code is 2023102, while the SO post's is 2023101. The available positions are entirely temporary in nature and are subject to change. Specific fields are included in both CSIR posts: Generalist, Finance and Accounts, Store, and Purchase. Consequently, candidates are free to indicate which post in any specialization they prefer. It should be noted that the CSIR merit cum preference pattern will decide the distribution of cadres among candidates. The CSIR SO/ASO application fee is INR 500. However, no payment will be collected from you if you belong under any of the following departmental categories: Women, SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, or CSIR. Exam Pattern for CSIR SO / ASO
The CSIR CASE Exam has two open positions, so the application procedure for each exam will be a little bit different. The first two stages for posts would be the same for both SO and ASO, which will each have three phases. The CSIR SO/ASO Exam has the following stages:
Stage 1: CBT Objective Paper (For Both Posts)
Stage 2: CBT Descriptive Paper (For Both Posts)
Stage 3: Interview (For SO Post Only)
Computer Proficiency Test (Qualifying in Nature for ASO Post Only)
Please note that the CBT for Stage 1 and Stage 2 will be bilingual except for the English Language section.
There will be a negative marking of 0.33 mark for every wrong answer.
The candidate's merit will be determined based on the total scores from the two exams once they have passed Stages 1 and 2. The ultimate merit will be determined by averaging, and subsequent hiring will be done in accordance with that final merit.
